Writing to you from Mildred’s Lane, where I am attending the Queer Ecologies Research Collective for my second year. This program is again hosted by Alex A. Jones and Nick Bennett. My dear friend Darian Razdar has also returned and there are a host of new attendees / future friends + collaborators.
Last year, I gave a presentation on Glory Holes, Public Sex, and Parks and cried, a very deep, and grief-stricken cry. The tears were unexpected and I truly hate crying amongst witnesses but this work has always brought up core wounds around land, embodiment, and inter/intraspecies connection.
Returning here has afforded me the opportunity to reevaluate my life once more. Where am I now? What has changed since last year? What desires are emerging? What has grown since then?
I am still hole-hunting and in a way, this research has become even more life-sustaining. This has been my lowest-production year as I shifted towards other forms of income and navigated a chronic health condition that worsened with the Covid infection I had a couple years back and upon returning to the US in January after my travels. My research that has mostly been in the form of conversation, reading, writing, and dreaming has been the medicine to my soul to continue along. Hole hunting to me is as much about finding a special hole to fill as it is about finding my will, to live.
My will to live — yes, the longest project I’ve embarked on to date. I’ve been working steadily on the Eros Study: Hole fetish magazine to which I am thankful for the support of my friends Darian and Ize and everyone else who submitted, shared, and offered words of affirmation. We have the core of our submissions, although I am still searching for a few truly perverted smutty images.
And have a lot of other really special plans in the work. Some of which are secret for now but one I’ll share — Recently, I announced Blooming Together: An 8 week Group Eco-Sensual Immersion, exploring energy, herbalism, somatics, and mindfulness based approach to pleasure and erotic studies.
It is the remix of the 1:1 mentorship I have organized the last two years. Throughout our time together, we will practice cultivating somatic awareness and learn how eco-sensuality and eco-eroticism can be a supportive framework for aligning with our values and tending to our connection to self / other / more-than-human world, which becomes essential in times of crisis and capitalist imposed spells of disconnection.
🦋 Blooming Together is open to all bodies and backgrounds. We will meet on Mondays from 6-8pm est starting August 26th. If you’re interested fill out a short application to communicate your intentions.
🦋 In this group immersion, you will receive: 8 group classes, a weekly workbook and resources to deepen your practice, one 60 minute healing / coaching session with me, and opportunities to connect as a cohort.
🦋 If you register by August 1st, you’ll receive an extra 60 minute 1:1 session for a total of two 60 minute 1:1 sessions.
besos y más,
